La Regina

"La Regina, First and Last of Her Name" is my favourite Raku piece created during my 2022 workshop-in-residence in the beautiful Sorano. It was handbuilt by coiling, adding a pinched head, and finished with Naked Raku with some copper oxide accents. During a Naked Raku process, the layer of glaze is supposed to shed entirely upon thermal shock (hence "naked"). Yet La Regina refused to remove her shiny glaze mask, so I let her keep it.
